Marble Top Repair
Below: This Victorian Marble commode top was part of a set. It was cracked and broken in two places.
Below: To begin the repair, it's very important the marble is on a perfectly flat surface. I use a larger piece of scrap marble for this. The top is then glued up using a West System epoxy and allowed to cure for 2 days.
Below After the epoxy cured, the top was flipped over and a channel was routed. An Iron bar was epoxied in place to add extra support.
Below: Next, the crack is filled with custom colored filler, then sanded and polished when dry.
